Phaidonas Gialis (b. 1986, Athens) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, 3D animation, programming, video, and performance art. A graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts and the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Gialis seamlessly merges physical and digital mediums to explore complex narratives and speculative futures. Recently, his practice has focused on experimental writing, 3D animation, and hybrid performances, often blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction.

Gialis’s work has been exhibited in notable venues across Greece and internationally, including Daily Lazy and Allouche Benias Gallery in Athens, Romas dārzs in Latvia, and Kunstwerk Cologne in Germany. Drawing from a fascination with archaeology of the present, body horror, and science fiction, his art investigates the transient marks of human existence, the interplay between physical and virtual spaces, and the tensions between communication, diversity, and shared histories.

He is a visual artist fellow for the year 2022-2023 at the ARTWORKS – Staνros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Artist Fellowship.

He was assistant curator for the Greek Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale 2022.
