Bifurcation, video, 5:16, 2020.
In the work “Bifurcation,” a virtual narrative unfolds, reminiscent of video game snapshots, through a shapeless speculative entity that is born and redefined through successive encounters with a variety of different organisms. Using images sourced from the internet and processed through 3D graphic design software, the video incorporates diverse animation techniques that sometimes contrast and sometimes complement one another, creating a conflicting aesthetic.
Reflecting on the multifaceted nature of human existence, as Bachelard mentions in his book “Lautréamont”—“every living being that craves form”—the entity in “Bifurcation” seems to be in an endless search for identity. This quest becomes achievable only through alternating cycles of self-reproduction and self-destruction.
